Available Franchise Territories
A protected territory is the foundation of a Hearthstone franchise. We don’t hand out overlapping zip codes and let owners undercut each other. When you claim a market, it’s yours. You build the reputation, you earn the repeat business, you sponsor the Little League team. First-mover advantage matters in chimney work. Homeowners don’t shop around every fall; they find someone they trust and stick with them for decades. Being the established name before a competitor arrives is worth more than any advertising budget.
Open Markets
We’re actively awarding territories in markets where demand for professional chimney service outpaces qualified providers. Here’s where we’re looking for the right owner-operator right now:
- Texas - From the Hill Country to the Dallas suburbs, wood-burning fireplaces and aging masonry chimneys create steady year-round demand in a state that keeps growing.
- Florida - Humid coastal air accelerates liner deterioration; homeowners here need inspectors who understand salt-air corrosion, not just soot removal.
- California - Strict emissions and seismic codes mean homeowners need sweeps who document like engineers and know the local requirements.
- Georgia - Historic neighborhoods in Savannah and Atlanta’s ring of older suburbs mean plenty of pre-1980 chimneys that need real masonry knowledge, not a brush-and-vacuum outfit.
- North Carolina - Mountain cabins and Piedmont colonials alike need proper sweeping before burn season; the market’s fragmented enough that a name brand stands out fast.
- Arizona - Monsoon moisture and hard water staining punish chimney crowns; most homeowners don’t know why their fireplace smells until someone shows them the cracked crown with a camera.
- Tennessee - Nashville’s growth and the Smokies’ second-home market mean new construction and century-old stone chimneys in the same territory.
- Ohio - Freeze-thaw cycles through Cleveland winters and Cincinnati’s river-valley humidity make liner and crown work a steady business.
- Pennsylvania - Coal-country heritage means generations of homeowners who actually use their fireplaces and understand the value of a certified sweep.
- Colorado - High-altitude burns and pine-heavy smoke leave creosote that needs proper removal; mountain towns and Front Range suburbs both reward the company that shows up when promised.
- Washington - Wet western slopes and eastern dry cold create two distinct seasonal patterns, both demanding real expertise.
- Virginia - From Fairfax County historic districts to Richmond’s Fan neighborhood, homeowners in older housing stock need level-2 inspections before they can even get homeowner’s coverage for wood-burning.
How Territories Work
Your protected territory is defined by population and household count, not arbitrary lines on a map. Typically that’s 150,000 to 250,000 owner-occupied homes with fireplaces or solid-fuel appliances. No other Hearthstone franchisee can market to or service within your territory. No corporate store will open there. You own that relationship with every homeowner.
Exclusivity means you build equity in a customer base that compounds. Year three, you’re not just getting new calls; you’re re-sweeping the homes you did in year one, inspecting the chimneys you capped, following up on the repairs you documented. A territory that supports one truck in year one supports two by year five if you operate by the K.E.Y.S. code.
Reserving a territory starts with a conversation. We review your background, your market preference, and our demographic data together. If it’s a fit, we issue a Letter of Intent that holds the territory for 60 days while you complete our mutual evaluation. No deposit to hold the territory, no pressure to move faster than due diligence allows. We’ve been at this since 1984. We’re not trying to sell a territory to the wrong person in a hurry.
The right fit matters. We’re looking for owner-operators who’ll answer the phone themselves at first, who’ll climb the ladder before they ask anyone else to, who understand that the 400th job gets the care of the first. Krafted right, every time. Your home first. Standing behind it. That’s the K.E.Y.S. code, and it’s not a poster on the wall. It’s how we decide who gets to put their name on the truck.
