Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know a flue from a firebox on day one. We’ve built our training around one fact: good operators learn the trade, but great operators learn the systems that make every job come out right. Since 1984, we’ve refined a program that takes people from signing to sweeping with confidence, then backs them with support that doesn’t fade after the ribbon-cutting.
Initial Training
Your first two weeks happen at our training facility, not in a conference room with a slide deck. You’ll work on actual chimney assemblies: masonry, prefab, pellet, gas. You’ll run a level-2 camera inspection from top to bottom, then sit with an instructor and write the plain-English verdict a homeowner in Topeka or Tulsa can read and understand. That’s the Hearthstone way: documented like an engineer, explained like a craftsman.
The operations side runs parallel. We cover the software that schedules jobs, routes trucks, and tracks the 90-Day Done Right Promise. You’ll learn our hiring playbook: how we find background-checked technicians, how we train apprentices into journeymen, and how we keep them. Marketing covers local setup: Google Business Profile, neighborhood direct mail, and the lead engine we’ve built over four decades. By the end, you’ll know how to price a rebuild, write an estimate with no surprises on the bill, and stand behind every line.
Launch Support
Opening week, a field coach rides with you. Not to watch: to work. They’ll take the first camera inspections, walk you through the photo documentation, and show you how to present findings so a homeowner sees what you see. We help set your local marketing: the mailers, the community sponsorships, the county fair booth that puts your name in front of people who’ve been in their houses twenty years and plan to stay.
Your lead engine starts turning before the sign goes up. We share the vendor relationships that get you professional-grade materials from DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield at franchise pricing. No builder-grade substitutes, no guessing who to call. Most franchisees book their first jobs before training ends.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching: Regular ride-alongs and job reviews, not to catch mistakes but to keep standards sharp. The 400th job gets the care of the first.
- Marketing: Seasonal campaigns, direct mail creative, and digital assets tested across our 8 locations in 6 states. You adapt to your market; you don’t invent from scratch.
- Vendor relationships: Locked-in pricing and priority access to DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield. We’ve done the qualification so you don’t.
- Technology: Software updates, scheduling optimization, and the systems that let a live person answer every call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- National brand campaigns: The Keystone Standard messaging that pre-sells your expertise before you knock on the door.
- Peer network: Franchisees who’ve faced the same season, the same supplier delay, the same oddball installation. One call gets you someone who’s been there.
You’re Never Alone
The hearthstone was the stone the whole home gathered around. We built Hearthstone Chimney Co. the same way: a steady presence in the communities we serve, hiring local, training apprentices into journeymen, sponsoring the church roof fund, and answering the phone with a person. A company that plans to be in town in thirty years acts like it. Call (844) 803-1545 to talk through what this looks like in your market, or request info below and we’ll call you back the same day.
